Where did the time go?....

It has been awhile. I wish I could say that it was all spent creating fabulous garment, but I did not finish one item until now.

I made McCall's 5393 for my oldest daughter. View C without the side or back pockets. I cut it out as a 4 but once I had her try them own I had to decrease the back seam allowance to 3/8. I still have not used my serger but I used an overcast stitch on my sewing machine to finish the seams.

I ran into trouble with the zipper/button hole so I sewed a faux button on and used a snap to close it. I will figure this out the next time I sew this, which will be very soon.

Other than that I really did not have any problems sewing this.

CLEANING HOUSE FOR 2008

Last Week I threw out worrying, it was getting old and in the way.
It kept me from being me; I couldn't do things God's way.
I threw out a book on MY PAST(Didn't have time to read it anyway).
Replaced it with NEW GOALS, started reading it today.
I threw out hate and bad memories,(Remember how I treasured them so)?
Got me a NEW PHILOSOPHY too, threw out the one from long ago.
Brought in some new books too, called I CAN, I WILL, and I MUST.
Threw out I might, I think and I ought. WOW, you should've seen the dust.
I ran across an OLD FRIEND, I hadn't talked to in a while.
His name is GOD the Father, and I really like His style.
He helped me to do some cleaning and added some things Himself.
Like PRAYER, HOPE, FAITH and LOVE, Yes... I placed them right on the shelf.
I picked up this special thing and placed it at the front door.
I FOUND IT- its called PEACE. Nothing gets me down anymore.
Yes, I've got my house looking nice.
Looks good around the place.
For things like Worry and Trouble there just isn't any space.
It's good to do a little house cleaning,Get rid of the things on the shelf.
It sure makes things brighter; maybe you should TRY IT YOURSELF.

Not in 2008

Here are some my 2007 stumbling blocks:

My marriage is not as strong as it should./could be. Well, it is my husband’s fault. He just does not appreciate me.

I am now twenty pounds heavier than I would like to/need to be. Well I hurt my back in September and I am afraid to (re)injury it…

I have far too many UFO in my sewing basket. Well it takes too much time to sew in my living/dining rooms. I have to set up and take down the machine and put away supplies and put up the ironing board etc…

We rarely go out as a family or as a couple, Well, money is tight and everyone is so busy or so tired..

Last week I decided that I will no longer tolerate excuses. Not even from myself.

I now tell my husband how much I appreciate him as a man, a husband and as a father
I have started exercising again, that weight won’t disappear on its own
I have started the construction on my basement sewing room.
I will no longer waste money on buying lunch from a restaurant and I have started searching the circulars for grocery deals and clipping coupons.

I realize that God has blessed me with all I need and that I have been blocking my own blessings.
